2025 Season Close & Off-Season Projects

Hello Fellow Members,

As our pool season has now ended, the Board would like to inform members regarding topics previously shared and also make everyone aware of off-season work to complete our Reimagine Capital Project to ensure a successful 2026.

Health Inspection

Last Friday’s announcement closing our pool for the season due to a failed health inspection understandably raised a few questions, and we want to assure everyone that there is/was no actual health concern. We failed a county health inspection due to another issue with our GC not following code with the black fence that surrounds the property. We did not experience a water quality or sewage issue, as some have understandably assumed. The fence issue will be remedied along with other issues in the off-season. Read on for more info on off-season projects.

Please excuse the lack of information in last week’s news about the inspection. We walk a fine line between communicating too much or not enough information when we post news to the website, and we often don’t get it perfect. Our apologies for any understandable concerns.

Dues Adjustment

As we posted to the website and alerted membership on July 3, given the challenges with the completion of our capital project and the resulting shorter season, please know the Board plans to review the 2025 fiscal budget as the year ends to determine if any portion of membership dues collected for the 2025 season can be credited towards that for 2026.

An amount, if any, would be nominal based on our fixed costs and additional operating costs incurred trying to overcome circumstances related to our opening this year, but we want to remind those members who are still emailing us about this issue. We plan to share this information along with financials in our Annual Letter prior to sending invoices for 2026 dues in February.

Off-Season Work

Your Board expects to complete our capital improvement project in the off-season with several final efforts underway, such as but not limited to final phases of landscaping, parking lot surface grading/gravel, and remedying certain issues not effectively addressed by our contractors prior to the pool opening this year. We have quite a bit of work to do, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding of the workload and stress to deliver a completed capital project for you and your family.

Also underway on the Board is a shift towards each Board member assuming responsibility for a specific initiative that drives increased activity and an elevated member experience at our pool in 2026 and beyond. We believe increased activity through added amenity and program offerings members can choose to participate in (or not) brings us closer together as a membership-driven community and also ensures the financial health of our organization.

Look for future announcements that propose bringing more valuable opportunities for Swimming Hole members, and choose to get involved with reimagining what it means to be a member where you see fit for you and your family.

Thank you again for all of your patience. The painful parts of the commitment we have made together to bring our facility and our business into a healthy position for the next few decades is mostly behind us, and we look forward to more enjoyable times to come!
