Hello Fellow Members:
Next week, we begin demolition of all existing structures.
- We have our permit.
- All utilities have been cut.
- Our GC and his sub-contractors are mobilizing.
- We have the lending facility we need.
We are preparing for what will be an all out sprint to May. I’m excited for the future for us all.
Not just because of the time of year, I am also reflective.
60+ years of so many family memories at our pool are reimagined by change, the likes of which does not come often in our Town. I volunteer because of the relationships I enjoy with members. I also volunteer because of the feeling I have for the value of certain institutions in our Town. Our Swimming Hole is definitely one of those institutions. I get a little emotional when buildings start coming down, albeit time to do so.
As we see our buildings disappear, have confidence in the following:
- Our membership values tradition.
- Next week we demolish structures; we do not destroy tradition.
- Together, we are reimagining tradition at our Swimming Hole.
As we demolish, let’s remember our intent: To reimagine traditions while striving towards our Mission & Core Beliefs.
We have pulled together as an organization to get to this point…the point of no return. Let’s be patient and see this through together.
I said in a previous post that I am “thrilled!” The more measured choice of words is that I am cautiously optimistic. We have a lot of work to do to open our pool in May on time and on budget.
Stay tuned for my next update. Thank you for your trust. Happy New Year! This one will be unlike any other.
Thank you,
Glenn Prillaman
Board President
