Dear Fellow Swimming Hole Members:

We hope you are enjoying pool season! Please take a few minutes to review a few updates below.

July 4th Party

It’s almost time for the annual July 4th celebration at the Swimming Hole!

Who: The celebration is open to all members. Guests are welcome per the normal guest policy, which can be viewed on the Swimming Hole website here. Please be patient with the gate check-in process as the celebration typically draws many families, and it is imperative that we log the first & last name of every person entering our pool each day for insurance reasons.

When: July 4th, 12 – 5 p.m. (special pool hours of operation for this day). Food and beverages will be served at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Food & Beverage: The Swimming Hole will provide burgers and hot dogs with standard condiments, potato/pasta salad, baked beans, chips, soft drinks, and water. If you would like to help, please bring a dish of fruit, watermelon slices, salad, cookies, brownies, etc.

Games: The competition for kids (and even a couple events for adults) will begin after lunch! All kids are welcome to participate, but we ask that teenagers respect the younger kids who are participating. Games will include a watermelon race, inner tube race, and the best diving board competition in Davidson!

Capital Assessment Update

We are moving ahead as planned on the Reimagine Project that membership voted on last year, the details of which can be found here on our website. Our progress is in line with our financial plan, and we expect to be successful in finalizing a lending facility with a reputable bank that knows the nature of our business and its connection to the Davidson Community. We are very close to finalizing a fixed fee agreement with a reputable local builder who has first-hand knowledge of our facility and the membership experience. We have been preliminarily approved by the Town’s Design Review Board and expect to finalize that in July, obtain a building permit before the pool closes for the season, and be ready to start construction soon thereafter to complete the project before we open in 2025.

Members can expect that the one-time capital assessment ($850 per family) will be issued on or around July 1, 2024. Members will have 30 days to pay at least half ($425) of the total, and the remaining half will be due in full by December 1, 2024.

We would love to receive pictures from members that they are comfortable sharing in future newsletters. If you have some snapshots you’d like to share with the full membership, please feel free to submit them to members@swimminghole.club. Please ensure everyone in the photo is comfortable with it being shared.
