Good Afternoon Members,
I hope your New Year is off to a great start! I am looking forward to summer days together at the Swimming Hole in a few months. I am excited to kick off our monthly Swimming Hole Newsletter in an effort to keep members up-to-date and engaged. The newsletter will become a lot more exciting as we enter summer and have pictures and events to share. For now, I hope these updates make the warmth of summer feel a bit closer on these cold days!
Swim Team
We are excited to announce the return of the Swimming Hole STORM Swim Team for Summer 2024! All of our coaches will be back and look forward to another great season. More details to come, including schedules and an initial interest survey in next month’s Swimming Hole Newsletter. To inquire more about the Swim Team, please reach out to Annie at activities@swimminghole.club.
Dues & Capital Assessment
2024 dues will be invoiced on Feb 15th and will be due within 30 days. A $50 late fee will be assessed on the 31st day, and memberships will be forfeited if dues and any applicable late fees are not paid by March 31. Those memberships will be offered to the waitlist, per our ByLaws.
As a reminder, annual dues will remain unchanged this season since the Reimagine Project construction will not begin until the fall. Members should expect the Reimagine Project’s capital assessment of $850 approved by membership vote in September 2023 to be invoiced in July 2024 and to be due in August 2024.
As a reminder, dues and fees must be paid via a bank draft. We know that this has been a pain point for some, but please remember that the Swimming Hole is run by a group of volunteers. We do not accept cash or checks due to the lack of time available to administrate. At this time, we are not accepting credit cards due to the costs to the business and the complexity of charging merchant fees to the member.
Landscaping & Parking
Our plans to invest in new landscaping and expand our parking lot are still expected to be completed prior to Opening Day 2024, though we are still waiting on County approval. As you may remember, this plan will remove cars from Lorimer Road and provide for a safer traffic pattern since we have so many children who walk or ride bikes to our pool or run ahead of parents who are managing all that comes with a pool visit.
We look forward to sharing more news with you next month as we move closer to summer 2024!
Thank you,
Becca – Membership Comm Chair
